Education System in UK

The U.K. higher education system includes both,degree-awarding universities and non-degree awarding institutions. Non-degree awarding institutions offer vocational courses and bridging courses that enables a student’s entry into a degree-awarding institution. Degree-awarding institutions offer degrees for undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate programs.

The U.K. degree-awarding bodies run two parallel frameworks for higher education qualifications. They are:

The Framework for Higher Education Qualifications of Degree Awarding Bodies in England, Wales and Northern Ireland (F.H.E.Q.)

The Framework for Qualifications of Higher Education Institutions in Scotland (F.Q.H.E.I.S.)

The Russell Group Universities

Over and above public and private universities, the prestigious Russell Group is a group of 24 universities that offers high-quality education with a special and shared focus on research.
